As Iranians prepare for Nowruz this weekend, or Persian New Year, photographer Mohammad Reza Domiri Ganji spotlights the breathtaking beauty of his home country via stunning images of its natural wonders and spectacular architecture.
Ganji takes photos of many historical sites throughout Iran, such as mosques, baths, traditional homes and ancient ruins. He is most interested in the architecture of historical sites and featuring symmetry within his photos.
“I like that people can see these beautiful structures with the help of my photography,” Ganji said.
Nowruz, which means “new day,” according to euronews.com, celebrates the rebirth of nature in early spring. The holiday lasts several days, with rituals such as cleaning of homes, bonfires and traditional foods.
